After the huge success of the last Garba event in November 2013 I was asked to organise another one this year.
A few months on and the event has come and gone. And what a night it was – with a visit from the Mayor and Mayoress; our local councillors who participated and also a special performance from Yomeshbhai Jani.
I Just wanted to share a few thank you’s with you all to let you know about all of the great people who have helped me to get this event arranged both leading up to the event and on the day itself.
As the children will be the future of Shree Krishna Temple, and as she has actually helped me design, print, laminate cut the tickets and posters and donate and run the Tuck shop I asked Sienna to help prepare and read the speech on the night on my behalf which is attached below.
The helpers and those who donated prizes were also listed on the board but for those who did not see this I have listed them below too.
I couldn’t have organised this event without the help and support of each and every one of them.
Apologies if anyone is missed off here or I have mis-spelt their name, as I had prepared this prior to the event for prizes that were given to me in person, but thank you to everyone.
We raised over £1600 which is amazing so Thanks again to everyone who helped and come along.
Sienna Patel (aged 9) speech – Garba night Saturday 11th June 2016
Jai shree Krishna, Good Evening everyone,
We are here today to celebrate 25 years since Murti Pratishta and to raise funds to help keep our mandir running for many more years to come.
Welcome back to Rameshkaka and family – we have all been looking forward to this evening so thank you for coming back to Dudley.
A couple more Thank you’s – Thank you to everyone who has helped to get ready for this evening – those who have sold tickets; donated prizes; supplied the stalls and to Jasu Catering for providing the hot food.
There are too many names to mention, but all of our helpers and those who have donated raffle prizes are listed below so please do take a look at our STARS who have made this evening possible.
We really appreciate all of your help and support.
AND last but not least, a very BIG THANK YOU to all of you who have bought tickets and come along this evening to support our mandir.
Give yourselves a round of applause.
It’s a fundraising event, so to help us raise as much as we can please dig deep and buy raffle tickets – we have some great prizes including vouchers; hampers; photos, a foot massager; chocolates and much more.
We also have some stalls in the dining area where you can buy hot food by, A Tuck Shop; mehndi; t-shirts; ice-cream and a Puja stall. All contents donated by our stallholders and all proceeds will go to the mandir.
We will be taking photos this evening so we can capture some memories and will be adding them onto the Mandir website and Facebook page. If you do not want your photos to be added please let a committee member know.
We will be having a short break at about 8.30 with a speech from the Mayor of Dudley and some entertainment from Yomeshbhai Jani and aim to finish around 10pm with the raffle draw. Thank you again, enjoy your evening and I’ll now hand over to Rameshkaka…
